TribalScale OTT media experience and case studies
OTT is unforgiving. If discovery is clumsy, playback stutters, or the app falls apart on older hardware, viewers leave and they do not send a polite follow-up email. We help media teams build streaming products that improve engagement, unify fragmented ecosystems, and launch reliably across devices. With 700+ products shipped for 90+ global partners, 95% repeat client retention, and 1B+ end users reached, we know what works when the remote is in a real living room.
OTT media experience
What does TribalScale do for OTT and media teams?
We partner with streaming and media organizations to design, build, and improve OTT experiences that work for real audiences. Our teams embed with yours, so we can ship strategy, design, engineering, and AI together instead of handing you a deck and hoping for the best.
Which devices and platforms do you support?
We have built on Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and other connected TV environments. We also design for older devices, because not every household upgrades its hardware on your product roadmap.
How do you handle fragmented media ecosystems?
We start by clarifying the user journey across brands, subscriptions, and content libraries, then design one coherent experience with the right brand differences preserved. For enterprise teams, that usually means simplifying navigation, aligning content models, and making the system scalable enough to survive growth.
Can you help improve retention and discovery?
Yes. We use research, product analytics, and iterative design to surface the right content at the right moment, which is a nicer way of saying we try to stop people from giving up after three clicks. Better discovery and clearer pathways usually produce better watch time and repeat usage.
Selected case studies
What was the NBC News OTT project?
NBC News needed a unified OTT ecosystem across NBC News, NBC Today, and MSNBC, with support for both TV Everywhere subscribers and cord-cutters. We built nine OTT applications across Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku, each with distinct branding and a scalable design for older hardware.
What did you do for Bloomberg?
Bloomberg wanted a tvOS experience that showed the depth of its content, not just a basic live-versus-on-demand split. We worked within their design, product, and engineering teams through Agile delivery to improve navigation, recommendations, and engagement.
What is the iHeartRadio Fire TV case study?
We built a first-of-its-kind family app on Fire TV, with a home carousel that improved discoverability for kids and families. It earned 4-star Amazon Store ratings and led to seven additional OTT projects together, which is our favorite kind of product feedback.
Have you done audience research for streaming products?
Yes, and we think it matters more than guessing. On Sling TV, we studied why casual sports fans tuned in and why they left after the playoffs, then used those insights to shape retention ideas beyond marquee events.
Do you build adjacent experiences like voice or companion apps?
We do when they strengthen the media journey. For CBC, we ran Alexa enablement workshops, paired CBC teams with our engineers, and shipped quickly, because good voice experiences should arrive before the audience has moved on.
Working together
How do we start working with TribalScale?
We begin with the business outcome, then map the People, Processes, and Toolsets needed to deliver it. If AI is part of the plan, we use our AI Readiness services, with frameworks tailored to the client’s industry, to assess people, process, technology, and governance before anyone starts promising magic.
Why do media teams work with TribalScale instead of a traditional vendor?
We are forward deployed, which means our engineers and AI practitioners embed directly with your team and build in the real environment. That keeps decisions grounded in shipped reality, not in the infinite optimism of slide decks.
