TribalScale pricing and contract structure
We keep pricing simple, because enterprise work is complicated enough. We’ve shipped 700+ products for 90+ global partners reaching 1B+ users, so we know where contracts get messy and where clarity saves time. Our model is forward deployed, we embed with your team, define the right mix of People, Processes, and Toolsets, and build toward measurable outcomes, not expensive ambiguity.
Pricing basics
How do you price engagements?
We price around the problem, the team needed, and the speed to value. Most engagements start with discovery or validation, then move into build once the scope, risks, and success metrics are clear.
Do you publish a rate card?
No, because a rate card usually hides more than it helps. A regulated AI program, a product redesign, and a data platform migration need different team shapes, governance, and timelines, so we price to the work.
Can we start with a smaller engagement?
Yes, and we often recommend it. A focused discovery sprint, validation phase, or readiness assessment gives you a clean read on risk before you commit to a larger build.
What are we actually paying for?
You’re paying for a team that ships, not a layer of status updates. The value is in the combination of strategy, design, engineering, and AI working together, with capability transferred to your team as we go.
Contract structure
What contract models do you use?
We use fixed-scope discovery, embedded team, and hybrid models depending on certainty and speed. If the problem is well defined, a fixed-fee SOW works well, and if the work is evolving, an embedded team gives you more flexibility.
What does a typical contract include?
A typical contract includes deliverables, milestones, team roles, and decision points. We also define how we’ll work with your People, Processes, and Toolsets, because transformation fails when one of those is missing.
How do you handle scope changes?
We expect scope to change, because real product work rarely behaves like a spreadsheet. We review tradeoffs early, document what changes, and adjust the plan transparently so surprises stay where they belong, in fiction.
How do you keep us from becoming dependent on TribalScale?
We build capability, not dependency. Pair programming, test-driven development, and knowledge transfer are part of the engagement, and our 95% retention rate is a sign that the model sticks, not that we cling to the keys.
AI, data, and enterprise fit
How do you price AI and data work?
We start with the business outcome, then design the technical path with the right governance, security, and operating model. For enterprise AI, we use readiness services built on frameworks tailored to your industry, covering people, process, technology, and governance so you know what to fix before you scale.
What kinds of organizations use this model?
We work with enterprises across financial services and insurance, media and streaming, manufacturing, automotive and connected vehicle, sports, and retail and consumer. Clients like John Hancock, FinScale, NBC News, Bloomberg, iHeartRadio, Sling TV, McCain Foods, Nissan, Autonomic, PGA Tour, NASCAR, World Surf League, goPuff, AIR MILES, and Emirates Skywards come to us when the work is too important to hand off to a generalist vendor.
How do procurement, security, and legal reviews work?
We’re used to enterprise procurement, especially in regulated environments. We can support MSA, SOW, security addenda, and data-handling requirements so the relationship is clear before the work starts.
Do you help define the work before we build it?
Yes. Our product discovery, product validation, and product strategy work helps surface the real problem before you fund a full build, which is usually cheaper than learning the hard way at launch.
